ADMISSION RULES:
Admission is strictly merit based and the entire process from Form filling to confirmation of admission by payment of fees is conducted in stand-alone online mode.
Only regular Honours Graduates or Graduates completing Major Course in specific subject/allied subject are eligible for prosecuting PG studies at Hindi University.
For admission to PG Programme in Anuvad Sahitya, a candidate must have passed BA examination with Honours in Hindi/ English/ Bengali where English and Bengali are to be treated as Allied Subject.
Candidates graduating with Honours in English and Bengali seeking to prosecute the PG Programme in Translation Studies must have passed B.A. with Hindi as Combination/Elective/ GE (not AECC) if they want to study Anuvad Sahitya at the Hindi University. Proficiency in Hindi communication (written and spoken) may also determine eligibility in this regard subject to the approval of the university authority.
Reservation for SC (22%), ST (6%), OBC A (10%), OBC B (7%), PH (3%) and EWS (UR) (10%) category candidates shall be applicable as per Government rules, directives and constitutional provisions.
For candidates belonging to the SC and ST categories there will be, as mandated by the Government, a relaxation in cut-off percentage by 10% provided the applicant has secured the qualifying marks in the Honours subject.
All Admission is provisional and is liable to be cancelled on grounds inter alia of 1) suppression of fact 2), non-satisfaction of basic eligibility criteria, 3) violation of admission rules, 4) uploading of inappropriate documents or documents not issued by competent authority.
For getting the benefit of PWD reservation the disability degree of a candidate must be 40% and above.
For getting admission under reserved Category (SC/ST /OBCA /OBCB/ EWS) certificate issued only by competent authority will be considered. So admission will be cancelled if at a later stage it is found that the produced certificate has been collected from unauthorized sources.
Caste Certificate must be issued in the name of the applicant by the competent authority of the State of West Bengal.
Certificates of distance mode will be treated at par with those obtained through Regular mode of studies.
For the benefit of Dual Degree, students may have to wait till decision taken by appropriate authority of the university.
EXAMINATION RULES:
Credit is retained Course-wise. Backlog if any is to be cleared within three consecutive chances counted from the year of admission to the programme.
Each student will have to compulsorily take the Internal Assessment in the mode and at the time fixed by the department.
Since there is no scope for reappearing in Internal Assessment, no candidate can fill up the form for Semester-End Examination without appearance in Internal Assessment.
Students keeping attendance of 75% and above will be treated as Regular and will be allowed to fill up the examination form.
Students in the attendance range between 60% and 74% will be allowed to fill up their form under relaxed attendance category.
Students in the attendance range between 50% & 59% may be allowed to fill up the examination form subject to condonation of shortage in attendance by the competent authority of the university.
Students having less than 50% attendance are not eligible for taking examination.
For appearing in Semester-end examination, students will have to fill up examination form separately in each Semester.
Students are required to obey the University rules and follow the schedule of examination as notified from time to time.
